Just got back yesterday after a week being tormented by Costa but having a Fantastic time.
Facilities are great home from home but better weather and food.
First time we have stayed this year. Our family stayed last year but we couldn't get in (last year) and had to stay at another hotel in Mastichari, but where made welcome all the same.

Be back next year.
It's true, go as a guest leave as a friend.
Keep up the good work.

Well it's getting near that time of year again. We've been coming here since 2000 and will continue to do so until we see why everyone likes it so much. Ok the rooms are clean and have air conditioning, the staff are friendly and will bend over backwards (even Costa's boyfriend) to help you. The BBQ nights are fantastic, the food is excellent, you now get transported to and from the airport. The prices are lower than last year. So what's all the fuss about? Looks like we will have to return again in July to find out.

The Chapmans (January 31, 2006)

We came out to Kos this year to get married at Antimachia. We had a fabulous time and Angelo and Costa were perfect hosts to celebrate with our family and friends after the wedding. What more can we say but 'That's Amore'! Thank you to everyone for their hospitality and the many gifts we came home with. We shall be returning very soon for a more relaxing break.

Hello there chaps,
All I have to say about your hotel is that I only ever visited the bar. That was brilliant. Every night after our meal I'd always look forward to relaxing there. Plus, I never felt like I was going to a bar, it was like going to a friends house for the evening. At this moment I'm guessing you're wondering who I am. Well, Angelo would know me as the boy who wore the Captain Discount T-shirt. Costa would know me as the oldest boy in the family of 6 that ate breakfast at the hotel in the 2nd week. Plus we have a really annoying mum who nagged you for Greek phrases. But I just wanted to tell you that your place really was the best on that island. Even if I did only visit the bar.

Anyways, thanks again for making my holiday absolutely brilliant.

Angelo & Costas are kind, helpful & a good crack. Their mum is even nicer. We were delayed for 1 day & arrived late, In out room waiting for us was a couple of cold beers & some feta/cucumber.
Costas has many talents, not only having an Insect as a friend, he cleans,Irons, does good impressions of a mosquito. His Tom Jones impression is to die for! Only kidding my friend!!!We will be back next year as we did arrive as guests & left as friends

We stayed here last year and thought it was great. The apartments are clean with everything you need especially good is the air conditioning. Owners are welcoming and its in a good location. We liked it so much we're staying here again this July.

My girlfriend and i spent a week here, and we thought it was beautiful. Even though we're both 19, we decided we wanted a quiet holiday to relax after university. Excursions were available into Kos Town at a reasonable price for bar crawls and themed evenings. We booked with Manos Holidays. Stelios the owner is very friendly, and a beer and traditional Greek snacks were presented to us on our arrival. The rooms were basic but more than sufficient, and air conditioning was free. Definately recommended to anyone wanting a relaxing holiday. Pool is clean, with a bar on hand, and the beach is a 3 minute walk away. Eating out is cheap, with many tavernas to choose from, with good menus and delicious food. Beware the cocktails, they can be lethal!!!

We will be visiting the ilios apartments for the third time(May) this year.Stelios the owner is a very friendly chap, on your arrival you may be greeted with light refreshments from him. We arrived late at night and he was still waiting for our arrival with a bottle of beer and a few nibbles. The beach is a stones throw away or there is a good pool with bar a few seconds walk from the apartments. The room are basic but are cleaned daily except Sundays. The fact that it's our 3rd visit in a row speaks for itself.

We didn't actually stay here but ended up discovering the place on our very last night (the one where the Manos forgot about us and only got us to the airport by cab with 30mins to spare). I say discovered we walked past it every day but never went in assuming it was the same as the Christina (where we stayed - see my review) while the Christina had no communal facilities the I&I has a bar sat TV internet etc and 3 very friendly English speaking staff. The brothers that manage it, Angelo & Costas were really great when our coach never turned up to take us to the airport, guys if you're reading this Marie and I are really grateful. They even stayed up to meet their new arrivals, we didn't meet our hosts for 2 days!

This year was our 5th to these apartments and we have already booked for 2005. Our holidays here are a reunion, meeting friends again. People often ask what is so special about mastihari, what has it got? Well, not a lot and that's what we like about it. What is has got is a nice beach, bars,a nice harbour and it's not far from anywhere on Kos. The apartments and the owners are something special. Self catering with a lounge bar,air conditioning, telephones in rooms. Now the down side is of course, you have to suffer Angelo & Costa. They insist you go to the Sunday BBQ's, make you stay up late drinking and talking until the early hours, and Costa would not let me leave until I rode on the back of his pink spice girls scooter. And what with Angelo dancing every night to Kingston town,I can see him now. I just hope I get to see the figs again next year,Costa will explain that,ha,ha. Can't wait for next year and hopefully to see their parents, Giovanni & Elena again, wonderful people. You will not receive a more genuine welcome anywhere. I look forward to seeing them all again and of course, Stelios and his family too.

We first visited Kos, because we thought there would be night life for our daughter and her friend. It was not my first choice by any means. On our arrival at the Ilios & Irini we were met by Stelios and who served us fruit & drinks to welcome us as a guest. Over the years we have got to know more of the family,Giovanni, Elena, Angelo, Costa, including the sons of Stelios. These people are so honest and genuine, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They make their guest feel so special. The only problem is Costa's pink Spice Girls scooter that he insisted I ride when we go fishing.

Last year we met new friends who will be back in 2005,so we look forward to seeing them all again. And like it says on their web-site. Come as a guest, leave as a friend. Please don't tell too many of your friends about these lovely apartments and Angelo & Costantino, because it is getting harder to book every year. But if you want to see Angelo dance to "Kingston Town" every night, book up now.........

August 2005 will be our 4th trip to Mastihari with our children and the third time we will have stayed at Ilios and Irini. From someone that has certain expectations from holidays I can assure you Angelo and Costa and the resort deliver way beyond our needs.

As hosts, the brothers are attentive; they make everyone feel special, and nothing is too much trouble. They have a genuine charm and it is a pleasure to spend time in their company, sober or not (mostly not).

They never sleep and after they have finished with the guests they go clubbing normally with my daughter. Angelo will spend all night honing his DJ skills and if you want to strut your stuff on the tables off you go. Their carefree and laidback attitude always ensure people are at ease and free to enjoy themselves.

BBQ nights are a must. Great value, great entertainment and great food, the boys and their mum (Elena) really make an effort for your enjoyment. However you have to be prepared to talk to your fellow holidaymakers and let yourself be free of your typical English reserve. Not a real hardship I can promise you.

The rooms are good by Greek standards with a couple of great additions. They have air conditioning, a power shower and a loo where you can flush loo paper. The kitchen area is adequate for breakfast and it is so cheap to eat out that we have never cooked a meal in the room all the time we have stayed there. The one time we have eaten in, Angelo was kind enough to pick up a meal from the village and deliver it to the door. What a superstar.

As Kelvin, who we met in 2003, said in one of his earlier reviews it was not his first choice and neither was it ours, but I am sure glad we stumbled across it. If you ever manage to be in the area on May 6 make sure you meet up with Angelo as it is his birthday.
